GT40 Replica Inspired by the legendary GT40 driven by Graham Hill in 1966, this car captures the spirit of the iconic racer. This recreation meticulously integrates parts that are directly interchangeable with those used in original GT40s from 1964 to 1969.

Considered one of New Zealand's and the worlds most exact GT40 replicas, every component has been carefully sourced over an 18-year quest spanning New Zealand and beyond, the owner collected and customised nearly every detail. World-renowned builder David Brown of Classic Car Developments in Invercargill was the man behind this masterpiece, ensuring authenticity in every aspect. David's builds are now recognized as arguably the best Ford GT40 replicas in the world !!!!

Davids precision aircraft engineering background helped immensely with the ground-up construction of fabricating panels, placing panels using clecos, then riveting and spot-welding everything together, exactly as the original cars were made.

This tribute includes specific nods to GT40P 1046, the car driven to victory at the 1966 Le Mans 24-hour race by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon. From the transmission and mirrors to the steering wheel and body components, each piece reflects a commitment to accuracy and heritage.

Features include period-correct details such as Smiths gauges, Koni dampers, and Lucas lights. It boasts a 1971 ZF DS25-1 five-speed transaxle paired to a 351W 5.8L engine and S.E.V. Marchal driving lights, enhancing both performance and authenticity.
